Africa Farm management Association Congress Report
The 9th Africa farm management conference took place on the 16th till the 21st of November 2014 in Cape Town. It was an integration of delegates from African countries and outside the continent. The theme of the event was “Transforming African agriculture from production to markets and beyond”. One of our Students goes to Canada
Busisiwe Singama a 2nd year Forestry Student participated at the 42nd International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) Symposium 2014 that was held in Canada, in the province of British Colombia. From the 31st of August to the 2nd of September 2013, Fort Cox College of Agriculture and Forestry was part of the Student Expo that was held at Hemingways Mall in East London. The PR & Marketing Manager, Ms Vuvu Ngcofe was presenting in the Professional Power Hour sessions, whilst Ms Phindi Mpondwana and Mr Thando Patiwe were actively interacting with prospective students at the display stall. Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners from around East London attended. Bay TV Channel 45 and feature on DSTV Channel 875 & Link FM broadcasted live on the venue.
The college graduation ceremony was held on Friday 10th May 2013, at Mgolombane Hall (Fort Cox College). The Hon. MEC of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform, Ms Zoleka Capa, was represented by Dr. Silwana as the guest speaker at this ceremony.
The three year qualifications that were awarded are:
Diploma in Agriculture, specializing either in Agri-business, Animal Production and Crop Production as well as Diploma in Forestry.
